SGGSWU Departments Department Of Education

Department of Education has been established with the objective to prepare teachers who are skilled to teach within a strong interdisciplinary framework.  The courses offered in the department provide theoretical and cross-cultural study of education. The discipline is inherently multidisciplinary, drawing in particular from the disciplines of anthropology, history, psychology, sociology, political science, economics and basic sciences. Here we, nurture professional dispositions which call for teachers who are committed to students and their learning. We are committed to provide students with a platform to develop their teaching skills and to develop skills in problem solving, professional exploration and reflective teaching. Graduates from the department will be reflective, effective, skilled facilitators of learning and will be prepared to process information in a technologically advanced society and to adapt to different teaching settings, varying exceptionalities, and diverse cultural backgrounds. Our pedagogical courses and experiences ensure that our students will receive the knowledge, understanding and skills essential to meet the requirements of Education department and provide them with ample placement opportunities both in public and private sector.
