SGGSWU Departments Department of Physics

Physics department was established to train the young minds for research in the area of basic and applied sciences, and to inculcate scientific temperament. This department boasts of well qualified faculty with research interest in different areas of Physics. Presently, the department is offering undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral program in Physics. There are huge job opportunities for M. Sc. and Ph. D. Degree holders in Physics in research, design and development, besides teaching. There are various Research Centres in India and abroad where M.Sc. and Ph.D. degree holders are required for elaborative research in various fields of Physics. Students have excellent opportunities in Indian research establishments such as DRDO, ISRO, BARC, ONGC, etc., as scientists. The department encourages students to participate in various scientific and research programmes at national and international level in specialized areas like Radiation Physics, Nuclear Physics, High Energy Physics and Solid State Physics.
