Department of Education
The Department has been established with the objective to provide skill enhancing training to prospective teachers within a strong inter- disciplinary framework. The courses offered in the Department provide theoretical and cross-cultural study in the field of education. The discipline is inherently interdisciplinary, drawing in particular from the disciplines of Anthropology, History, Psychology, Sociology, Political Science, Economics and Basic Sciences. The Department aims to nurture the professional dispositions and develop sensitivity towards the teacher-taught relation in the prospective teachers. We are committed to provide students with a platform to develop their teaching skills and to develop skills in problem solving, professional exploration and reflective teaching. Graduates from the Department will be effective skilled facilitators of learning and will be prepared to process information in a technologically advanced society and to adapt to different teaching settings, varying exceptionalities, and diverse cultural backgrounds. Our pedagogical strategies and curriculum ensure that our learners receive all the requisite knowledge, understanding and skills, essential to meet all the requirements in the field of education. The Department and the placement cell ensure ample placement opportunities to our students both in public and private sector.
