Department of Economics
The Department was established with the primary aim to create a centre for quality teaching and research in Economics in 2013. The Department is committed to become nationally and globally recognized centre of excellence in the field of Economics. The Department intends to create an environment to deliver thought-provoking and research led programs which develop independent thinking. The study programmes aim at developing understanding about the inter-linkages between economy and the society. The Department offers research, graduate, and postgraduate programmes which develop professional and intellectual competitiveness of students with the aim to train them in theory, practice, and ethics, from a multi-disciplinary perspective. The Department seeks to produce academicians, Civil Servants, entrepreneurs, agro-businessmen, Financial service providers like bankers, Insurers and economic journalists.
