As we gear up for the upcoming Sikh Environment Day(March 14, 2023), we are excited to announce a special month-long plantation drive aimed at making a positive impact on our environment. To ensure the success of this initiative, we are reaching out to our esteemed alumni for their support and contributions.In light of this, we kindly request each department to take the lead in contacting our alumni network and encouraging them to contribute to this noble cause. The funds raised will be utilized to facilitate the plantation of trees and promote environmental sustainability.Here are some key points to include when reaching out to our alumni:



  1. Objective: Emphasize the significance of the Sikh Environment Day Plantation Drive and its goal to create a greener and healthier environment.

  2. Impact: Highlight the positive impact of their contributions, explaining how the funds will be used to purchase and plant trees, contributing to our collective effort in combating climate change.

  3. Legacy: Remind our alumni of their connection to the university and the opportunity they have to leave a lasting legacy by supporting initiatives that align with our commitment to environmental stewardship.

  4. Recognition: Assure our alumni that their generosity will be duly acknowledged, whether through public recognition, naming opportunities, or other appropriate forms of appreciation.

Cyber space is a complex and dynamic environment of interactions among people, software and services supported by worldwide distribution of information and Communication Technology (ICT) devices and networks.



On one hand, cyber space, which cuts across global boundaries, has brought in the latest innovative technologies and modern gadgets, while on the other hand, it has inevitably led to increased dependencies on computer resources and internet-based professional, business and social networking. The exponential increase in the number of internet users in India clubbed with rapidly evolving technologies has also brought in its own unique challenges, besides aggravating the existing problems of misinformation and attempting to disrupt critical information and Information Technology networks.



To felicitate a sense of cyber awareness and cyber securitySri Guru Granth Sahib World University, Fatehgarh Sahib is running this Quiz, the details of which are mentioned in the succeeding paragraphs.

·     One entrant can participate only once. Multiple entries from the same entrant will not be considered and will be discarded.

Cyber Jaagrookta Diwas is a government initiative that has been brought under the I4C scheme to raise cyber security awareness among public sector undertakings (PSUs), Universities, Colleges and Schools, etc. Cyber Jaagrookta Diwas is an initiative launched by the Ministry of Home Affairs that requires all organizations to spread cyber security awareness. It is observed on the first Wednesday of every month. The purpose is to create awareness and sensitize the Internet users on safeguarding against cyber frauds and cybercrimes.

Sri Guru Granth Sahib World University, Fatehgarh Sahib is observing 'Cyber Jaagrookta Diwas' in March 2023 to create awareness on safeguarding against Cyber Frauds and Cyber-Crimes through Online Poster Making Competition.

EVENT: ONLINE POSTER MAKING COMPETITION



THEME: Countering Cyber-Attack and Cyber-Terrorism



Start Date of Contest: 24th February 2023



End Date of Contest: 1st March 2023 (5:00 pm)



The University will recognize the Student/ Faculty Member with the Best Poster as “Cyber Star of the Month” as a reward and motivation to appreciate their effort.

 GUIDELINES:



1.    Each participant can send only one entry.



2.    Participants can submit their entries either in English/Hindi/Punjabi.



3.    Participants are directed to mention their Name, Roll No., Department and Semester while submitting their entries.



4.    Relevance to theme, originality and creativity will be the criteria that will be used for selection.



5.    The decision of the Jury/ Committee would be final and binding on all the participants and no clarifications would be issued to any participant regarding the decision taken.


EVENT: SLOGAN WRITING COMPETITION



THEME: Countering Cyber-Attack and Cyber-Terrorism

GUIDELINES:



·       The slogans must be sent latest by 1st February 2023 at csio@sggswu.edu.in or through the Google Form (Link: https://forms.gle/B7yU5tnHQvc3ha9w5 )



·       Each participant can send only one entry.



·       Participants can submit their entries either in English/Hindi/Punjabi



·       Participants are directed to mention their Name, Roll No., Department and Semester while submitting their entries.



·       Relevance to theme, originality and creativity will be the criteria that will be used for selection.



·       The slogans should be original, there should be no plagiarism or else that entry will be disqualified.



·       The language shouldn't be offensive, the slogans must not hurt the sentiments of other people.



·       The participants must note that the slogan must reflect the core theme: Countering Cyber-Attack and Cyber-Terrorism.  Any inappropriate content would be liable for disqualification.



·       The participants are requested to stick to the word limit of 30 words.



·       The decision of the Jury/ Committee would be final and binding on all the participants and no clarifications would be issued to any participant regarding the decision taken.



·       The result of the competition would be published on the University Website.

Cyber Jaagrookta Diwas (CJD) is celebrated on the First Wednesday of every month for propagating Cyber Hygiene as a Mass Aware Campaign. In this regard, on 2nd November 2022 Dr. Kamaljit Kaur, Chief Information Security Officer, Sri Guru Granth Sahib World University, Fatehgarh Sahib campaigned for Countering Cyber-Attack stating the different ways through which one can be Cyber Smart through an E-Poster.
